Sunbathers lounge on the white-painted terrace of Il Canille, built into the rocks of Pizzolungo overlooking the waters off the coast of the island of Capri, Italy, in August 1980. Il Canille is the villa owned by Italian tailor and fashion designer Umberto Tirelli (1928-1992). This quality photographic print is part of the Slim Aaron Archive which contains a collection of pictures of the rich and famous before and after Slim Aaron served as a photographer for the US military magazine Yank during World War II. The subject of the photographs covered American and European society as well as nobility and both minor and major stars of the day.
